
TEREM QUARTET
One of Russia's most famous bands is Terem Quartet which celebrates its 25th anniversary, and makes a visit to Ikaalinen to mark the anniversary.
The Domra accordion and the bass balalaika are traditional Russian folk music instruments and Terem has been a pioneer in a new way to play these interpreters of Slavic moods. Breathtaking virtuosity, astounding arrangements and a phenomenal ensemble have made this quartet
one of the most sought after bands around the world. Terem Quartet has performed in over 60 countries and played in almost 3000 concerts. The Quartet's repertoire includes more than 500 breathtaking arrangements of their own, of classical pieces from different countries and well-known composers.
Terem Quartet’s Ikaalinen concert has a guest soloist, accordion player and singer Jonna Pirttijoki. This concert is one of the main events of the 2011 festival.
